Hi Courtney! Saw Vicky's post somewhere about her agent having a blog. Very very cool. I'd love to know what a typical day in the life of an agent looks like.
As someone still fairly new to Twitter (and often unsure what to tweet), I'd love if you could say something about how writers can best utilize social media. What is the best way to network/promote/learn, not only on Twitter, but also on blogs, forums, etc.?

Since I'm currently between jobs, my writing projects have crept back into my to-do rotation. When I surface, I sometimes wonder to myself what's next? Reading your answers to other people's questions seems like a good start, since I hardly know what to ask...
Except I do want to ask you about one topic: What do you feel about working with friends? Do you dare? Or do you refer friends to someone else? ...after screened us/me first?
Hi Amy! I'm not opposed to taking on friends as clients, if it's a good fit otherwise (a genre I represent, etc.) I haven't yet taken on someone I was already friends with, but I would certainly consider a lot of my clients friends at this point, so I clearly don't have a need to maintain a wall between work relationships and personal relationships. Shoot me an email and let's talk, or call me at the office (tomorrow is better). I want to catch up on recent events anyway.

I've been a member of the NaNoWriMo community for a number of years now, and I was wondering what your opinion is of this kind of "competition", as a publisher. If someone were to submit a work to you and you discovered that it was a piece written during NaNoWriMo, would you be more or less likely to take the time to review it than another work?
